The “AWE Me” Youtube channel’s segment “Man at Arms: Reforged” is turning into one of the most popular verticals within the channel’s successful portfolio that includes the DIY Cosplay Shot, the DIY Prop Shop, Epic How To, and Super Gamer Builds. “Man at Arms: Reforged” takes a closer look at cool weaponry you see in films and movies. The guys from the show try to remake these weapons in real life and explain how to do so.
Recently The Man at Arms crew was at it again, taking on one of the coolest (and most challenging) swords in modern-day fantasy: Ice from Game of Thrones. Ice is one of the most iconic swords in Game of Thrones, with a legacy that spans the entire series and many of its key moments. Made of Valyrian steel, it’s the sword Eddard Stark used to kill Will, the Night’s Watch deserter, in the very first scene of the very first episode.
So what would it take to make this sword in real life? I can tell you this. It’s not easy. The video below is 18 minutes long and it will prove to you just how craft and tricky making a sword can be. This isn’t the first time Man at Arms has tackled GOT either. They’ve already made Jaime Lannister’s first sword, but not the one he later gave to Brienne of Tarth
