Stephen Colbert most certainly delved into politics on The Late Show by trying to assess why Donald Trump is showing support to Bill O’Reilly amidst all of the sexual harassment claims against the Fox News host. Wait a second. Did I just read what I wrote correctly? Hahaha. Why would I even think that Trump would do anything BUT support O’Reilly? And then he grilled Ivanka Trump’s recent interview for not knowing the meaning of the word “complicit.”
Let’s move on because in a rare turn of events, Colbert didn’t focus on our President for that long last night. The true topic of discussion was the Pepsi ad that was released this week featuring Kendall Jenner. Colbert referred to it as the “Attractive lives matter” Pepsi Ad. For those who haven’t seen the ad, it’s a “protest” ad that has rubbed millions of people the wrong way, and rightfully so.
It’s a commercial that I think it supposed to talk about living in the moment but it’s really just a shining example of the inequality in the world. Pepsi missed the mark by a million miles and Colbert is there to dissect every inch of this abomination. Check out the full monologue below:
