We don’t often here Darth Vader make jokes. It’s just not his style nor does it match his character. However, there was a scene in Rogue One: A Star Wars Story where Director Orson Krennic visits Darth Vader’s home on Mustafar and in that scene, Vader briefly force choked Krennic and advised him not to “choke on his aspirations.” Since that time people have been making dad joke references about Vader. And rightfully so. Like I said, how often are you going to hear Darth Vader make jokes? Unless it’s in a parody video, chances are extremely slim.
However, thanks to the folks at Nerdist, our parody video wishes have been answered. According to them, Darth Vader apparently isn’t just a lord of the Sith, but also jokes as he shows the Star Wars universe that it doesn’t know the power of the pun in this Nerdist Presents parody!
If there’s one certainty in life, it’s that when you take Darth Vader out of character for parody, it’s going to be funny. I don’t care what it is, it’ll get a laugh out of people. This video is just another prime example of that certainty. Check out “Vader’s Got Jokes” which should really be named “Vader’s Got Dad Jokes” below:
