While we continue wait for the May 21st debut of Twin Peaks to return to television on Showtime, the show’s been doing an amazing job of marketing the premiere. You really have to hand it to their team for showing a lot and giving away nothing. Every single tease for the show has been just that, a tease but a “cool” tease nonetheless. From trailers to missing signs being posted around Australia, to an actual hotline you can call, I’m expecting some big things from the David Lynch masterpiece. But I will say if there’s one thing I would never in a million years associate with Twin Peaks, it’s skateboarding.
Thanks to Lynch’s collaboration with Habitat Skateboards, a new line of custom decks inspired by the show featuring artwork modeled after some of its most recognizable iconography and beloved characters has been created. If you’ve ever wanted to do a gnarly railslide on the murdered Laura Palmer’s face, now’s your chance.
Other designs in Habitat’s Twin Peaks collection include decks modeled after Agent Cooper, Audrey Horne, and the Log Lady, as well as the more all-encompassing “Damn Good Cup Of Coffee” with the familiar Double R Diner logo and little cherry pies set against the roaring Snoqualmie Falls. All of these are sure to spark conversation about the meanings of the Black and White Lodges as you’re thrashing around the half-pipe (via AV Club).
