If you’ve never heard of UCLA gymnast Hallie Mossett before then there’s a good chance you’ve heard about her in the last 24 hours. A video of her floor routine has been circulating around the internet and has already been viewed over 4 million times. Why would a college gymnastics floor routine draw so much attention? Not only did Mossett absolutely nail her routine but she also channeled Beyoncé for her floor exercise and the crowd (and internet) ate it up. The routine itself took place nearly a month ago but since has gone viral after being posted on Facebook.
The college senior began her 90-second set with Queen Bey’s 2016 jam “Formation.” She started off with an impressive set of splits and a fierce smolder at the camera, then launched into a gravity-defying tumbling pass, which was met with thunderous applause from the audience.
Next, Beyoncé’s sexy 2013 track “Partition” played as Mossett sassily snapped her fingers and made her way across the floor before flawlessly executing several leaps, turns and jumps. Finally, the Grammy winner’s 2008 tune “Single Ladies (Put a Ring on It)” blasted through the speakers and Mossett busted out some choreography nearly identical to the moves in the song’s iconic music video.
The routine earned a perfect 10 from one judge and a final score of 9.975 to help the Bruins defeat Arizona.
