I’m a big fan of Michael Rappaport. While his career isn’t quite what it used to be, every single time I see him in anything I’m kind of thankful. His most recent acting performance is in a new Snoop Dogg video which contains a controversial political statement. Snoop Dogg points a prop gun at a clown-styled President Trump in his new video for “Lavender,” which is a remix of the electro-psych track by BadBadNotGood and Kaytranada.
In the video we take a look at an entire universe that’s populated by clowns, so if you’re scared of clowns this might not be the video for you. Michael Rapaport stars as an ordinary family man who is pulled over and shot by a police officer — an event filmed by a bystander and uploaded to “ClownTube.”
The video is said to be a response and inspired by the fatal police shooting of Philandro Castile in July. The shooting of Snoop in the video is a direct response of his criticism of Trump and police brutality.
“The ban that he tried to put up; him winning the presidency; police being able to kill people and get away with it; people being in jail for weed for 20, 30 years and people that’s not black on the streets making money off of it — but if you got color or ethnicity connected to your name, you’ve been wrongfully accused or locked up for it, and then you watching people not of color position themselves to get millions and billions off of it,” he said.
