Stephen Colbert Calls Trump Out on the Slavery “Not Good” Comment

Did I call this or did I call this?  Not that it wasn’t obvious but you might remember yesterday I mentioned how a certain Donald Trump quote would make it onto Late Night.    When Trump had a chance to visit D.C.’s National Museum of African American History and Culture yesterday, the press noted that the President was moved during his time there.  Most notably there were two particular instances in which Trump was emotional.  However, as Trump isn’t always a man of great words, his expression when referring to the atrocities of slavery was “Boy, that is just not good. That is not good.” and “That is really bad.”

What was the first thing that Stephen Colbert made fun of last night?  You guessed it.  Trump’s poor choice of words.   As Colbert put it, “America’s highest office has gone from home of ‘The Great Communicator’ to home of ‘The Guy In Need Of A Thesaurus.’

It’s definitely a little sad when your commander in chief has only those words to describe slavery.  The least he could have done is plagiarize some better wording and put it out in a tweet.  My four year old son could have described slavery in larger and more eloquent words than that.

P.S. Does Stephen Colbert wear the same suit every single night?
