The Voice Season 12: Get Ready for Great Singers – and the Lovebirds!

The Voice Season 12

The Voice Season 12 is almost here! There will be new singers to discover, and a new dynamic in the coaching realm.  Remember how last season was all about the new format of having two female coaches? Well, that aspect is still there.  Along with veteran coaches Adam Levine and Blake Shelton,  Alicia Keys has stayed on to do her sophomore run, and Gwen Stefani is back for her third coaching gig. (Before anyone starts any conspiracy theories, Miley Cyrus is set to switch back in for season 13.)

When having two female coaches was new it was fun to have a “girls against the boys” kind  of vibe, (although at times it felt like they tried a little too hard.  This season the theme is “feel the love” – and they don’t just mean the Blake and Gwen romance!

Yes indeed, The Voice Season 12 is all about the love: female friendships, bickering bromance, and a general sense of Kumbaya.  Given the state of America at the moment a bit of a love fest on reality television will be a nice break!  However, don’t think for a minute that people have lost their competitive spirit.  The blind audition hijinks are alive and well on The Voice Season 12.  Take a look!

Okay?! That Adam Levine puppet is hilarious! As for Gwen and Blake, Gwen scores with mentioning she’d just recorded a country song with Blake.   The “hooking up” joke Blake made however….  Gwen’s laughter proves just how much she loves the guy, because that was definitely corny. Of course, isn’t that kind of what we all love about Blake?

The Voice Season 12 premieres Monday February 27th  8pm on NBC! It’s the standard Monday tw0-hour show.  (Tuesday February 28th will be two hours as well.) What song to you think the coaches will open with on Monday: “All We Need is Love,” What The World Needs Now Is Love,” or “Crazy Little Thing Called Love.”  I’m sure you can think of some others.  Leave your guesses in the comments and we’ll see if any of us nailed it!
