Were Super Bowl LI Commercials a Protest of Donald Trump’s Administration?

While the Super Bowl is the one day out of the year where it’s assumed we put our differences aside and simply unite to watch a great game of football, this year certainly had a different tone.  Whether you like it or not, the political undertones of this game were extremely transparent.  You mustn’t forget that Super Bowl winners Tom Brady, Bill Belichick and Patriots owner Robert Kraft are all staunch supporters of Donald Trump, so that was already in play before the game started.

Many people assumed that Lady Gaga would use her halftime performance to make a political statement.  Surprisingly and refreshingly she didn’t.  And finally, what about all the commercials?  Did anyone else feel that much of the Super Bowl commercials were direct protests or responses to some of the things Donald Trump has done in his first couple weeks as President?  According to Uproxx

Although these commercials aren’t specifically responding to recent executive orders and the like, what would normally be benign support of American values seems in direct opposition to the administration’s agenda right now. Each of the below represent an America that is already great, and which does not need Trump to change anything (or build a wall) in order to improve it.

Here are the commercials that seemed to be a direct response to Trump:

What did you think of the Super Bowl commercials of 2017?  Were they political?
