Leslie Mann stopped by the late show to promote her new movie “The Comedian” and it didn’t take long for her to complain to Stephen Colbert that her husband, director Judd Apatow just isn’t funny. Hard to believe considering how many hilarious comedy films he’s directed. She mentions that they’re not funny around the house. Mann mentions that Apatow is funny in his professional life but at home Mann made a facial gesture suggesting that he’s kind of a lump. “He does not even look at me” quipped Mann.
Oddly enough, Leslie got a surprise since her husband was on the set and decided to crash the stage. It’s pretty funny how disheveled Apatow looks. The second he comes on the show he says, “It’s very hard to lose weight during the Trump administration. There’s a lot of stress eating that takes place.”
If there’s a Hollywood couple that “makes it work” these two definitely seem like the pair. Not only do they work together constantly, they have two daughters who also frequently appear in Apatow’s films. Perhaps some of that chemistry is in the fact that Apatow models a lot of his comedy after his family life making things less pressured on set? Tough to know the real answer but the interview was interesting nonetheless.
