While this might not mean much to the network TV fans out there, anime and manga fans are going to be pretty thrilled. Dragon Ball Super may very well have its first Super Saiyan Woman on its hands. It would be the first time ever to have a female version of Broly on television. While it’s happened in the comics, it’s never happened in the history of anime or manga on TV. According to Kotaku:
A teaser for the upcoming episode of Dragon Ball Super shows off what certainly looks to be a female version of the character Broly. This might be the first Super Saiyan woman in any Dragon Ball anime or manga. Broly, of course, is a male Super Saiyan. Check out the upcoming episode’s transformation scene below.

Some people have pointed out that this character might not actually be Broly but rather a Broly tribute. Then again it could be a Broly from another universe. It seems as though the possibilities are limitless. As the Dragon Ball Wikia explains, there have been female Super Saiyans in video games, but none have appeared in the manga or anime.
While this news isn’t earth shattering it would have been nice to know this going into the Million Women’s March in Washington D.C. Considering how many amazing signs were on display, a female Broly from Dragon Ball Super certainly would have shaken things up a bit. Unfortunately only about 1% of the audience would have “gotten it.” Check out the video below for one Youtuber’s explanation of all of this:
