Amazon’s Catastrophe Renewed for Seasons 3 and 4

Catastrophe Renewed

If you’re a fan of Amazon’s critically-acclaimed comedy Catastrophe, we’ve got some good news for you: the series has been renewed for not just one but two more seasons, which will bring its total number of seasons to four.

U.K. broadcaster Channel 4 announced on Tuesday that it had renewed Catastrophe for Seasons 3 and 4. The British romantic comedy, which is written by and stars Sharon Horgan and Rob Delaney, airs in the United States on Amazon Prime Video.

“We are thrilled to be making a third [season] of Catastrophe,” Horgan and Delaney said in a statement. “Rob and Sharon are a blast to spend time with. And we’re not talking about ourselves in the third person, we’re talking about the characters. We’re eager to breathe life back into Rob and Sharon. Okay, now we are talking about us. In the first series Rob and Sharon went through a lot (us) and even more in the second series (back to the characters). We’re looking forward to putting Rob and Sharon (both us and the characters) through further pain for your enjoyment (now we’re talking about you).”

Additionally, Delaney also shared his reaction the renewal news on Twitter, writing that he’s “quivering with glee” at the opportunity to continue working with Horgan.

Catastrophe Season 3 will consist of six episodes. Production is set to begin in November with Season 3 being released sometime in 2017.
