We may have “seen” Superman during the first season of CBS’ Supergirl, but we never officially met him. A couple of sun-stained shots or particularly placed camera angles ensured that we never saw the face of the Man of Steel, but that will be changing during Season 2 of the now CW superhero series. Supergirl Season 2 will feature the return of Superman, and for the first time on the show, we’ll actually get to see Kal-El in all his heroic glory.
“The iconic character of Superman will first be seen visiting his cousin Kara in National City at the beginning of the series’ second season,” Warner Bros. TV states.
Casting for Superman is currently underway. There’s no word yet on which actors, if any, are top candidates for the highly important role.
“Greg [Berlanti], Ali [Adler] and I are beyond thrilled to welcome Clark Kent and his slightly-more-famous alter ego to the world of Supergirl,” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg. “Superman will be appearing in the first two episodes of the new season and we cannot wait to see who next dons the red cape!”
Supergirl Season 2 will air Mondays at 8 p.m. on The CW beginning this fall.
