Hawaii Five-0 Preview: Adam’s in a World of Danger

Hawaii Five-0

The pressure on Adam Noshimuri has been building for months, years really, if you think about where he came from. Officer Kono Kalakaua’s other half grew up the heir apparent to a major crime syndicate in Hawaii, only to turn his back on it all for love. Yet for all his efforts, Adam has never been able to fully escape his past. On tonight’s Hawaii Five-0, Adam is in grave danger after escaping prison. The question is, who is he really in danger from?

Recall that Adam has been in prison for the last six months. He struck a deal which would keep him in prison for less than two years for murder. The only reason the deal was so good was because Adam was manipulated into killing two men for no reason by Gabriel Waincroft. All he had to do was keep his head down while he served his sentence, but of course, Gabriel wasn’t about to let Adam live his life in peace. Gabriel approached Adam in prison to offer him a deal. Deal is probably the wrong word, since we can assume the conversation was more of an ultimatum. Gabriel offered Adam a job with him running the business as Gabriel anticipated becoming the head of the top criminal organization in Hawaii. The only reason Adam wouldn’t laugh in Gabriel’s face would be if Gabriel threatened Kono’s life.

That doesn’t entirely explain the premise of tonight’s episode. Adam escapes prison with five other inmates, all of whom are serving life sentences for heinous crimes. The fact that Adam was even in the same cell block as these men, let alone chained to one of them, is puzzling. Obviously he is with dangerous criminals running from the police, which include his wife and friends. Is he also running from someone else, say Gabriel and the Yakuza?

“Ka Pono Ku’oko’a (The Cost of Freedom)”-Five-0 goes on a manhunt when a deliberate chemical spill enables six dangerous inmates to escape, including Kono’s husband, Adam.

Who is Adam really running from?
