In March and April many shows end up winding down for the year. Of course, TV fans note this time as the time for mid-season replacements and for some of the best Spring TV to begin. Long-awaited premium cable content from networks like HBO, Showtime, BBC America, and FX finally becomes available — and luckily, you can watch most of them without a pay-TV contract While there are plenty of shows to be excited about this spring, here are five that you definitely won’t want to miss!

Game of Thrones

The season six premiere of Game of Thrones takes place April 24 at 9 PM ET, and before you know it, the ten glorious episodes of the season will be over. This award-winning fantasy series takes place in Westeros, where an epic battle has been brewing for complete power of all the land. Complete with dragons, White Walkers, a child King, and plenty of sex and violence, this NSFW drama will have you on the edge of your seat. If you’re watching online, HBO Now will air each episode as they air on television. They also have all of the back episodes of Game of Thrones, in case you want to catch up or are new to the show.

Peaky Blinders

Peaky Blinders is an International gangster tale about the Shelby brothers Tommy (Cillian Murphy) and Arthur (Paul Anderson). If you’re in the U.K., you are able to watch Peaky Blinders on BBC Two. If you’re in the States, Netflix will offer the third installment, though there is currently no word on when the season will be released (odds are it will be sometime in April). We do know the season kicks off with Tommy’s wedding, but thanks to a Season two cliffhanger, we don’t know who the bride will be. Netflix has the previous two seasons, as well.

Fear the Walking Dead

If you’re already dreading the loss of The Walking Dead in April, you won’t have to mourn the loss too long, as a week after the season finale of The Walking Dead ends, Fear the Walking Dead begins. Fear the Walking Dead‘s second season fires up on April 10 at 9 PM ET. Currently, Hulu has the entire first season available and AMC.com also has all of the episodes in anticipation for the upcoming second season. Unlike The Walking Dead, Fear the Walking Dead takes place in Los Angeles and it details the beginning of the apocalypse, when Rick Grimes was in a coma. If you want to watch new episodes when they air on TV, Sling TV is your best option.

Darevdevil

Marvel’s superhero Daredevil is one of the five superhero shows set to dominate Netflix. Season Two was recently released and is available for viewing, along with the first season. I’m 4 episodes in as I write this article, and so far, so good!

A little background — due to an accident in childhood, Matt Murdock is blind. Now an adult and a lawyer, Murdock fights crime to save the endangered streets of Hells Kitchen, New York from all of the city’s unsavory foes. If you haven’t binge-watched the second season already, now is the time to do it.

The Americans

The hit FX show The Americans, now in its fourth season, airs on FX Wednesday nights at 10PM ET. A period drama, The Americans explores the marriage of a couple of KGB spies that are living as Americans in Washington D.C. during the Reagan presidency. Phillip (Matthew Rhys) and Elizabeth (Keri Russell) entered into their arranged marriage and now they are happily living as Americans raising their two teenage children. As their children grow, the couple will struggle over their future, and what will become of them.

The first three seasons of The Americans are available for free on Amazon Prime. As for new episodes you can watch them on the FX live stream using Playstation Vue.

You don’t need cable to enjoy the best shows on TV this Spring. All you need is a plan and a schedule to ensure that you don’t miss any of your favorite shows.
