5 Huge Problems In Movies That Could Have Been Solved Quite Easily

Have you ever sat watching a movie and wondered, just how easily could this overall problem have been ved? You’re not the first and you likely won’t be the last since plot points sometimes don’t make any sense except to further the film and create even more problems. But then what would we watch if everything turned out to be instantly solvable?  We do have to admit that the problems seen on screen can be a lot more entertaining when they tend to take the low road versus the high road. If nothing else it makes the movie a little more interesting to see how bad decisions and convoluted plans can affect the characters and their settings.

Here are a few bad decisions in movies that could have been avoided with simple fixes.

5. A lot of trouble could have been avoided if Rambo was allowed to just pass on through. Rambo: First Blood

So instead of being a hardcase and telling Rambo to just move on without stopping, the sheriff could have looked at him, thought that perhaps he could use a good meal and a night’s rest, and then he’d move on. But nope, that wouldn’t made the film about ten to twenty minutes tops, and that’s no good. So instead we got a PTSD-fueled rampage by Rambo through the mountainside and then into town where he literally shredded the place with gunfire. Good call sheriff.

4. Try stating what you what in an honest manner. Django Unchained

Now granted, dealing with slave owners in those times and in the south was a touchy subject and one that was bound to be made even more so by the presence of another African American. But really, would it have gone any worse if Schultz and Django had just stated what they were there for?  Candie was more than ready to sell Django’s lady in any case, and it could have avoided a slew of dead bodies and a heap of trouble. Sickening as it might have been to deal with a slave owner, it would have made life a lot easier.

3. Don’t they have probes and drones in the future? Alien

This is set in the future after all. In the present day there were such things as probes and remote-controlled devices that could be used to check things out from a distance. Why was it necessary to go traipsing into an unknown ship filled with unknown ovoids with unknown contents? At least if a face hugger had attached to a drone there was a chance that they could have ditched the equipment and made tracks. Sometimes the word “unknown” should send at least a small shudder of caution down your spine.

2. Wouldn’t that have been a part of planning the trip? National Lampoon’s Vacation

Even before Google there was such a thing as planning a road trip. Clark planned everything on a video game monitor for crying out loud, and he couldn’t pick up the phone and check with WallyWorld to check and see what was going on? One might have even believed that a place as big as WallyWorld would announce their renovations during their cartoons or promo spots as well.

1. Why go out through the alley? Batman

This question has been asked so many times it’s an echo at this point. Who in the world goes out of the theater into the alley when there’s a well-lit entrance to go out of next to a public sidewalk? There was no way to expect danger to be present or absent in either place, but in a city that’s supposedly as crime-ridden as Gotham the crooks don’t normally attack in the light where everyone can see.

So there’s the issue with solving such easy problems in film lore. We wouldn’t have the movies we do today if not for bad decisions that could have been easily fixed. Sometimes it just pays to let bad choices take their course.
