Is 2018 One of the Best Years of General Hospital?

General Hospital fans are having the best year ever. Okay, okay, you caught us. We do say that every year. But this year, we really mean it. This year has been one of the best in recent history on the show, and it’s been for some very important reasons. We love 2018 in Port Charles, and we think you do, too. Feel free to correct us if we are mistaken, but we think this is one of the best years in a while, and we’re going to tell you why this is the year to watch.

Oh. Do we need to keep going? We thought that was all you needed to understand where we are going with this and what we are talking about. But if you want more, we’ve got it. First and foremost, this year has been amazing watching the very handsome and talented Steven Burton show up and blow every single mind in Port Charles. He wasn’t Jason for years, but he was Jason. Jason was locked up and his twin brother Drew was mind-tricked into thinking he was Jason, and Sam was living with him and married to him and believing he was her husband of all those years. And just like that, it’s all different.

That entire storyline was keeping us on the edge of our seats for months, but it’s really been watching every single small interaction between Jason and Sam that makes us want more. They might not spend a lot of time together, but the time they do spend together is so hot it’s amazing. Their chemistry is like no one else, and we cannot even handle the entire situation from start to finish. We are all over here cheering for this coupe to make it work, but we want to know how you feel about it, too.

Nelle

Listen. We can’t. She’s everything to us. We love to hate her, and I do mean we love to hate her. This woman came in more than just this year, but she brought the heat this year. She took down an entire family that no one has ever managed to take down, and she got her way for a very long time. She came in and befriended Carly. Then she told Carly she accidentally slept with her husband. She broke up their marriage. Then she got pregnant by their son. Then she made Carly think her recently deceased son was alive and well and trying to contact her. Then she managed to make their entire family hate her for finding out she did all kinds of horrible things, and then she managed to befriend their daughter and turn her against her mother and stepfather more than she already was.

Then she managed to maintain a pregnancy, pretend her baby died when she really gave it away to another couple, and she did all this after she managed to convince police that Carly pushed her down a flight of stairs and tried to kill her and her baby and got her locked up and heavily medicated in a mental hospital. All. By. Herself. She’s amazing, and we really do miss her.

The Other Things

There’s more. We love seeing what happened with Ava and Griffin and what transpired between Ava’s daughter Kiki and Griffin, and what is going on with Kiki and her trial. We all cried with Nathan passed away, and we all feel that Maxie didn’t get the happy ending she should have gotten. We all cheered when Nina decided to tell her husband where he could go after spending so many years being his second choice to everything, anything, and nothing else. We also loved every moment of watching as Michael became a man, even if it meant he did so in the worst possible situation. And, finally, we did love to see that there was a real moment between Julian and Alexis, and we are all standing around hoping that will go elsewhere.

There are so many things we are loving about this year that make it stand out so much from other years. What is it you love, hate, or can’t live without? We want to know.
