It’s likely that a lot of people can recognize Famke Janssen just by sight since she’s been a rather prominent face throughout the years when it comes to a wide and diverse number of films. Some have attempted to label her as one type of actor or another but she’s done everything she can to break the notion that she’s anything other than a talented actress that can take on any role she feels she’s qualified for. She’s been a Bond girl in the past and that seems to have become a part of what a lot of people see, but she’s also taken on several different roles that have seen her stretch her acting ability in a way that has gone far beyond that one role. In many ways Famke has become the kind of woman that wants to be seen as someone that’s worth more than one role, but she also understands the necessity of being proud of what she’s done.
Here are a few other things you might not have known about Famke.
10. She was originally cast in Men In Black II.
Before the casting of Lara Flynn Boyle she was going to be the main antagonist, but unfortunately she had bow out due to personal reasons that she little control over. One thing about Famke is that she will recognize when to buck up and take a role and when to take care of personal matters that need her attention.
9. Famke was offered the lead role in Terminator 3 but turned it down.
To be quite honest there doesn’t seem to be any part in this movie that could have really been suited for her. She’s a great actress but at the same time the Terminator movies need someone that seems a little more hardened and less model-like. Maybe that’s why the actress that played the main villain didn’t seem to work so well.
8. Apparently she has a very big shoe size.
Size 11 doesn’t sound so big if you’re a man, but for a woman it’s apparently a big shoe size since she had to have her shoes specially made for her role in Goldeneye. In terms of her size Famke isn’t a small woman by any means, but apparently her feet are quite big in comparison to the rest of her body.
7. She’s still modeled throughout her acting career.
Seeing as this was how she started her career it seems perfectly normal for her to have continued with this line of work, especially since it seems to have treated her so well and has allowed her exposure to continue to grow as more and more people have come to remember her in various ways.
6. Famke is not a fan of social media at all.
Chances are if you see a social media site that has her name on it she’s not in control of it since she really doesn’t like getting on social media and usually won’t do it. You can’t blame her really, social media is great for some purposes but there are times when it be kind of a hassle if a person doesn’t want to go through the many differing opinions that people have.
5. She’s the only brunette among her siblings as her sisters are both blonde.
There is always a chance for parents that have certain hair color to produce a child that is nothing like either of them thanks to recessive genes. This is something that’s taught in high school biology classes after all and is quite easy to reason when it comes to families and how their children turn out.
4. She prefers starring in movies that people will actually watch.
This is kind of an odd statement since there’s really no telling how many people are going to come out to a given movie when it gets released into the theaters. But looking at her track record it’s safe to say that she’s kept this belief so far.
3. Famke enjoys taking on very different roles in movies.
She definitely doesn’t want to be typecast, which is something a lot of actors try their best to avoid since it paints them as really one-dimensional without being able to break out of a certain role when called upon to do so.
2. She doesn’t really enjoy talking about dating.
In some ways this is easy to understand since talking about it seems to indicate that you’re a bit desperate and are looking in a manner that might turn some people of simply because you’re bound to take just about anyone so long as you’re not alone.
1. Famke enjoyed her time as Jean Grey in the X-Men.
She’s stated that she likes to play characters that have a bit of a dark side, and the evolution that’s been seen with Jean Grey in the X-Men movies has given her the chance to expand on that ideal.
She’s getting older now, but it would still be great to see her in another X-Men film somehow.
