Admittedly a lot of actors that have started out or at least done a long enough stint with the Disney channel seem to have done pretty well in their careers or bottomed out entirely after they grew up a bit. Brenda Song is one of those that seems to have done fairly well as her net worth might indicate and is still an easily-recognized individual that has moved on to bigger and better things in her life. It’s understandable if you don’t know much about her as there are a great number of celebrities out there and it is extremely hard to know everything about all of them. But she has been fairly prominent in TV and movies throughout her career and has kept herself busy either behind the scenes or in front of the camera for many years now, maintaining and expanding her career as the years have progressed.

10. She fully admits that she thinks of herself as a dork.
This is usually a sign of someone that’s pretty comfortable with who she is and what she does. This kind of opinion about oneself is typically felt by those that are able to step out in society and just be themselves more often than not while admitting that some of the things they do and enjoy might label them as kind of nerdy in a way. Even so, it’s enough to know that she enjoys her life and doesn’t apologize for it.
9. Growing up she wanted to take ballet lessons but her mother put her in karate lessons.
Initially she hated it since she didn’t want to learn how to fight. But eventually she got into it and became a black belt in Taekwondo, mastering it well enough that she was considered quite skilled and more than a little capable. After all if you’re going to do something might as well learn to do it right.
8. Brenda started acting at the age of 6.
Her first acting gig was a Little Caesar’s pizza commercial and things have just kind of progressed from there. It does make you wonder however just how many kids audition for commercials, get them, and are never heard from again after that, in terms of being on TV.
7. She got her first gig when a friend of hers couldn’t make it and asked her to go.
That must have been a rather good friend since it seems as though some people wouldn’t even bother to tell those that know them about an audition for fear that they would take it from them.
6. She’s been a theater actor as well.
Musical theater was her thing for a while and she was quite good at it as she showed up in a few different productions such as The Music Man, Cinderella, The Little Mermaid, and several others.
5. Brenda has been voted as one of the most popular people in show business in many magazines.
There have been a lot of different lists that she’s made throughout the years and all of them have been in magazines that are typically read by men, so you know that some of them were based on her looks. Some however were also based on other attributes that she’s exhibited over the years so she’s more than just a pretty face.
4. Her first kiss was on screen.
This happened when she was 16. Some people might think that the first kiss a person has is so special that you would want it to be in private, but then it all depends on if you count a first kiss as something that’s for a fictional show or something that’s for real, away from the cameras.
3. She is an avid believer in writing in her journal instead of lashing out at people.
This does sound like a lot better alternative than bashing people verbally or resorting to physical violence since it allows those that are able to do this a chance to vent and simply let things go. It’s not bound to work for everyone but it’s a good thought at least.
2. For a while she was a Disney Channel kid.
There have been a lot of actors that can make this claim and a good number of them have gone on to have solid careers. There have been those that did something with Disney and weren’t seen in much after that, but it still looks good on the old resume.
1. She’s a big LA Lakers fan.
This almost seems to be a byproduct of being near or around Hollywood at times since there are a lot of celebrities that are noted Lakers fans. It could be they’re just a fun team to watch, since they’re definitely not the only California-based team in the NBA.
She’s a very positive person from what her bio shows and it’s reflected in her acting as well.
