Interstella 5555 is a kind of mind trip that’s posing as an animated science fiction movie and is wrapped in the music of Daft Punk throughout the entire length of the film. It seems that when an evil villain with no redeeming qualities takes a band from their home world he plans to turn them into a different version of themselves in order to start making gold records as their music captivates everyone that hears it. The problem with this is that if he amasses 5,555 gold records it will be enough for him to take over the universe. It’s kind of an odd plot but when it follows the music of Daft Punk it seems like anything goes.
It’s not the worst premise for a movie.

It follows their Discovery album very closely as each song is represented by a situation in the movie.
9. The movie had a $4 million dollar budget.
For an animated film it wasn’t entirely expensive to make in comparison to many others, but they did manage to cut costs on a lot of things that might have increase the budget by quite a bit.

People seemed to love the movie but then people love Daft Punk too so it could have been their involvement that was more of a factor than anything.

There have been plenty of films that have been involved with musical scores but there is the fact that this film is just different enough to appear unique.

The score was France 2 and Japan 1. This was used to signify Daft Punk and their one Japanese collaborator for their contribution to the movie.

Of course you had to know that there was going to be a point when the band would actually show up in the movie since their music is what’s driving it.

A few of them include Jimi Hendrix, Mozart, Janis Joplin, Jimmy Page, and a few others.
2. It received an 86 percent on Rotten Tomatoes.
Sometimes it really seems that the more obscure and hard to understand films are those that receive the best reviews and scores on such sites. This is why a lot of people tend to not listen to them or even pay attention to the ratings and wisely judge the movies on their own merit.
1. The movie takes some getting used to.
If you’re not used to watching movies that have no dialogue and very little in the way of sound effects then it might seem a bit odd to have them omitted.
But it’s still a visual treat.
