With the announcement the other day that Warner Bros. TV and DC Entertainment are developing a Teen Titans television show for TNT titled Titans, a big question that has already been brought up is, what Titans members should they bring on?
Now be aware that there have been several members that have joined the team throughout the DC Comics history, and today we are going to go through the ten characters that we would want to see on that show. It appears for now, based on the Deadline report, that so far we have Nightwing, Starfire and Raven being part of Titans. Be aware that this is a mixture of Teen Titans and Young Justice members.

10. Arrowette/Artemis Crook
Before hardcore DC fans start to correct me in the comments that Arrowette is actually Bonnie King, the reason why I brought up Artemis as Arrowette is because of the version that we saw on the Young Justice TV show. I was a huge fan of that show, and she was one of my favorite characters and yes I know that in the comics she is known as the villain Tigress. The point is that I really think that the Titans should have an archer on their team because A) I have a thing for archers and B) since Roy Harper/Arsenal is being used on Arrow already (it hasn’t been confirmed yet whether or not Titans will connect with Arrow or The Flash for that matter), she would be someone they could bring in instead. I will be fine either way if they bring in Bonnie King or Artemis Crook as Arrowette. As long as they have an archer on the team, I’m good to go!

9. Aqualad/ Kaldur’ahm
One of my favorite aspects with Young Justice was the character of Kaldur’ahm aka Aqualad, a character that was specifically created for the TV show who became very popular and was later on brought into the comic books. One of the reasons why they should include him is because he is someone that could have a good dynamic with Nightwing in terms of leadership. In addition, since we don’t want to have a team of just Caucasian superheroes, to bring in the Kaldur’ahm version would also be a good way to have some diversity in the team.

8. Kid Flash/Wally West
This is a tricky one. While Wally West aka Kid Flash (who later becomes The Flash) has always been one of the first members to join the team, it’s not certain if they could actually use him right now. Why? Recently the producers of CW’s The Flash talked about the chance that we may see Wally West on their show one day and in addition, he would be African American just like in The New 52 (the current DC continuity) where he was just recently re-introduced. In addition, they also changed Iris West and Joe West to African American on the TV show so that they could bring in a African American Flash one day. I don’t know if I would want to see a white Wally on Titans while we see an African American Wally on The Flash (in later seasons).
I think if they introduce a Wally on to TV, he should be African American in all versions because A) he is black now in the comics (which I love) and B) I think it’s about damn time that we get a black Flash because before Wally got his skin color changed, the Flash mythology had always been pretty white. I think WB and DC need to decide pretty soon whether or not they will connect it to Arrow and The Flash, which I think they should do because then it means that they wouldn’t have to introduce a new Roy Harper. I’m so in love with what Colton Haynes is doing with that character on Arrow that I would prefer to not see another version of Roy while the Arrow version is still active.

7. Superboy/Conner Kent
If they can have Supergirl being on TV, then I don’t see why they couldn’t put Superboy on TV as well. Conner Kent is such a rich character and whether it’s in the comic books or on the Young Justice TV show, he has always been one of my favorite characters. We did see Conner in one episode of Smallville (which was his live-action debut) and I have ever since then wanted to see a show where they could bring Conner in a bigger capacity. I doubt Zack Snyder and Co will ever introduce Superboy in the DC Cinematic Universe, so it would be perfect to have him on the show. It might be tricky though to do his origin story because he is so tied in with Superman and Lex Luthor because, well, his DNA comes from both of them. Pretty messed up family linage, right?

6. Miss Martian
I was always fascinated by Miss Martian on Young Justice because of her White Martian background, as well as her relationship with Superboy. I bring this character up because I want to see if Akiva Goldsman could figure out how to bring her into live-action. Because it was just recently announced, we don’t know yet what the tone of the show is going to be like and there is no knowing whether they will pick heroes that are aliens. But if they could bring her in and portray her successfully, I will give them a lot of props. She is also a very strong female character in the various comics that I have read with her in them, but mostly I’m looking at the Young Justice version for inspiration.

5. Bumblebee
I was never super familiar with the character of Bumblebee from the comic books before I started seeing her in various DC Comics animation. She is a very spunky and fun character that I think would fit in well with Titans. The thing that I mentioned earlier is that we still don’t have an idea of what tone they will go with so if they would go with an Arrow-esque tone where it’s very serious, I’m not sure if she would fit in, but it’s not impossible to make a character like her fit in in a gritty TV show.

4. Green Lantern/Kyle Rayner
While Arrow has been bringing up a certain Green Lantern Easter Egg (Ferris Air) in a few episodes, it makes you wonder if Green Lantern could work on television. While the effects for that character would be pretty expensive, I would love to see Titans attempt to bring in a Green Lantern and in the comics, Kyle Rayner, who is one of the many human Lanterns, has actually been a Teen Titans member years ago. This is a character that I have seen in various places, (comics, TV and movies) and my suggestion to the show-runners would be to bring in this character, but make him a little bit younger so that age-wise, he fits in with the other team members. As a Green Lantern fan, I wouldn’t mind seeing some more green on my TV screen every week.

3. Static
Now this is a huge fan favorite that I have wanted to see in live action for a while ever since I saw a number of episodes of his animatic TV show years ago. He has been in several DC animated incarnations and while I haven’t read much of him in the comics, I really enjoyed the latest portrayal of him in the last season of Young Justice. I’m also a huge fan of characters with the power of electricity (like Static, Electro etc.). I would also love to see how Goldsman would portray him and what actor would be cast in that role because if he appeared on Titans, that would mark his first live-action appearance. In addition, this is also a character that they could adapt in a very easy way when it comes to his origin and as a superhero.

2. Wonder Girl
If The CW was able to least start developing a Wonder Woman prequel show called Amazon (which is now officially shelved), then I assume that DC/WB can use Wonder Woman characters on the small screen while Gal Gadot kicks butts in the upcoming Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice. While I doubt that any version of Wonder Woman will be seen on Titans, what about her sidekick Wonder Girl? There are two Wonder Girls in the DC Universe, Donna Troy and then there is Cassie Sandsmark. I have actually read the first 10-12 issues of The New 52’s Teen Titans and in it, Cassie is the one who is introduced as that universe’s first Wonder Girl and she has a pretty cool back story. She was also a supporting character in Young Justice where we saw a different version of her which I also liked. I think either one of them could work on the show, in addition, I think to bring in a Wonder Girl as a Titans member would be a strong move by Goldsman as well as by DC/WB.

1. Blue Beetle/Jaime Reyes
For anyone who is a Teen Titans fan, Blue Beetle is someone that has been a prominent figure in that team for years. I first got introduced to the Jaimie Reyes version of Blue Beetle when it was announced that a Blue Beetle live-action TV show was in development and there was actually a test-footage from that show that was later on released, you can see it below this text. That project just disappeared mysteriously and there has been no word since then about that project. Reyes later made an appearance on Smallville in the 17th episode, “Booster” of the final season of that show.
I have ever since then been curious to learn more about that character and I read the first couple of issues of his own comic series in The New 52 and I saw him as a big character in Young Justice where he was one of the best written characters. I think it would be a waste of an opportunity if they didn’t put Reyes on that show because he is a very fantastic character and the inter struggle that he has with that Beetle would be a cool dynamic to show on Titans.
Here is that test footage we were talking about: wouldn’t it be cool to see something like that on a weekly basis?

Great choices.
I say we basically just continue off Young Justice and make a 3rd Season but in Live Action. How awesome would that be.
Although, Im not a fan of Wally West being african american or that weird outfit he has on. Wally in YJ was perfect. If you bring Cyborg, Aqualad and Static in, along with the Super Friends of diverse heroes, that should be enough to satisfy a racially inclusive cast.
weres bb he needs to be in dis sho to
