Young and the Restless fans know Nick will never compare to Adam in Chelsea’s mind. She didn’t choose to have her marriage to Adam ended. He was brutally murdered by her friend and her father-in-law — though she has no idea about the latter — and it’s destroyed her. She has to focus on things the way they stand right now, and she’s making sure she’s capable of doing that. She has stronger feelings for her late husband than she does her brother, and we are seeing that right now.
When Nick accidentally knocks over a bottle of her perfume, Chelsea will be very upset. He won’t think it’s a big deal, offering to pick up a new bottle for her. She’ll tell him it’s a discontinued bottle, but the truth is that the bottle was given to her by her husband before his death. She’s going to talk to Sharon about this, because who knows better the differences and similarities between these two brothers than the woman who was married to Nick and cheated with Adam?
Sharon will wonder if Chelsea will ever be truly happy with Nick or if she is just sticking with him because he’s the next best thing to his dead brother? But she won’t say a word about it. She won’t ask, she won’t comment, and she will do nothing but be there for her friend as this is all going on. But we are going to see a shift in this romance after this.
