Young and the Restless fans are no stranger to what is going on with the world today, but there is nothing that makes us crazier than when people call some of our favorite actors and actresses bad at what they do. Sure, some of them are going to make a mess of their lives in some capacity, but many of them are really good at what they do, but they have a long history of not being able to do what they are meant to do because of the writing. While we think that there is a good chance that many of the things that are written around here are good, some characters get the shaft. There is nothing else that matters other than good writing. You can be the best of the best, but without the good writing — there is nothing left.
Mischael Morgan
She’s one of our favorites, but did you realize she was voted one of the worst actresses on the show by her fans and those who write things? They’ve been known to say that she is not good at what she does, that she isn’t the best of the best, and that they were glad when she left. Yet these are the same people who are so happy to have her back. How that works is not something we can understand, but we just have to say that we don’t think she’s bad at what she does. We think she’s quite good at what she does, but we also think she is given very little chance to prove herself on many occasions. She’s a good actress, but they often gave her ridiculous stories that weren’t good for her in terms of allowing people to see her true range. We think she’s wonderful, and we are hoping that her new character is going to bring her what she needs.
Kate Linder
For more than 37 years, she’s been here doing all the things we love. She’s the lovable Esther, and that’s what makes us wonder why she makes it onto lists of worst characters and actors ever. We think she is anything but, and we think that her fans agree with us. She was not only the closest person to Katherine, she’s also the one woman who makes us laugh almost every single time we see her. She is nothing short of spectacular, and we cannot figure out what it is about her that people are not loving. They think she’s not that good, but we think that perhaps it’s that she’s just so good that she needs more time on the show. Coming and going and playing a small role might not be enough for her, if you ask us. We think she just needs more time, more effort, and more altogether time and effort on the show. She’s got so much going on, and that’s all there is to it.
Melissa Ordway
She’s the beautiful Abby, and she’s on the list of worst actresses on this show. We even have to agree with this one, but it’s not her fault. We don’t think she is bad at what she does. We think that she’s been given a terrible character to play, and that’s where it all comes down to play. She’s not so bad at what she does that she’s going to suffer, but she is going to have some bright future roles ahead of her. Writers tend to give her the very low end of the deal when it comes down to the fact that she is always playing the damsel in distress who is always whining about what is wrong in her life and how unfair her life is. She’s easy to dislike because of this, but we are certain a more in-depth character would change the game for this actress. It would change it significantly, too. We want more for her, but we don’t know that she will find more here. We think she might have to go elsewhere to get what she needs rather than what they feel she’s going to continue to do while she’s here. We get it, and we love it, but we know she can do more.
