Nobody can really say that the companions in Fallout 4 are, in any way, an absolute necessity to the game. The only reason you could possibly need them is if you play on the hardest difficulties. The game itself actually isn’t nearly difficult enough that it requires any of the companion’s minimal skills in combat. In addition, they’re definitely not so proficient that they can really help very much anyway.
One thing that many players have discovered, however, is that it’s easy to become attached to a companion. In fact, sometimes it’s easier than with your own character. Whether you’re a girl or a guy, you basically have no personality at all in Fallout 4 unless you play in 3rd person mode. So, you simply grow close to your companions because you see them all the time. Besides, since the Wasteland can be pretty lonely without a companion, they become a necessary evil no matter how useless they may be. They are, after all, somewhat memorable as well. In addition, most of them have some pretty compelling quests and stories.
So, if you’re a lover of all things that are “Fallout 4”, you undoubtedly have your favorite and, of course, least favorite companions in the game. Some are boring or useless and that makes them candidates for this list of the Worst Fallout 4 Companions in Existence. There are probably way more than we have on our list but these seem like the most useless and boring of them all. They include but are definitely not limited to:
He’s one of the most recent companions available to players and unfortunately, he isn’t worth your efforts in any way. His perk really isn’t much help at all and he’s really quite boring overall. In addition, that 1980s-style “The Running Man” suit doesn’t really help.
This is one companion who never stops talking. She’s this peppy reporter who was an earlier companion that you can run into on your journey. All in all, she’s only OK at best. Frankly, her perk is totally underwhelming.
OK, he’s absolutely adorable and, after all, who doesn’t love dogs? Unfortunately, he’s totally useless in combat. His perk may help, but his only redeeming social value is the fact that the Lone Wanderer skill can still activate with him. Other than that, he’s only good at attracting unnecessary attention, setting off traps, and, oh yeah, dying.
His perk isn’t half bad when you look at it since you’re always finding yourself getting outnumbered in “Fallout 4”. But, the fact is that he’s not that interesting. Perhaps if he weren’t always nagging you to death regarding settlements, he could be more tolerable.
He’s the newest Fallout world companion and he’s somewhat useful when it comes to far Harbor DLC. On the other hand, that’s really it. He’s really only necessary if you’re involved in a Mirelurk-heavy quest.
For starters, the fact that he has Power Armor can’t make him any better than the other companions. Even if you were to give all human companions their own Power Armor, they wouldn’t be so special either. As for Danse, do you think that his damage boost to synths and ghouls is really all that? Nope, not even a little bit.
