In what is far and away the best news of today, I just found out that DuckTales is coming back to television? And no, this isn’t some kind of funny prank. Disney XD might very well become my favorite channel on television now. There are two things that are not leaving my brain right now. The first is the old DuckTales theme song. And yes, the new show will have a very similar version of that song so don’t worry. The second is the DuckTales game on old school Nintendo (NES). How awesome was that game?
Anyway, Disney XD has released a trailer for the show and the reboot looks pretty solid. Updated animation and there’s a stellar cast too. DuckTales stars Doctor Who and Jessica Jones favorite David Tennant as Scrooge McDuck, Danny Pudi, Ben Schwartz and Bobby Moynihan as the voices of Huey, Dewey and Louie, respectively, Kate Micucci as Webby Vanderquack, Beck Bennett as Launchpad McQuack and Toks Olagundoye as Mrs. Beakley.
“Fans around the world are eager and we’re looking forward to introducing viewers to the all-new DuckTales,” Marc Buhaj, senior vice president of programming and general manager of Disney XD, said in a statement. “This early season two order is a testament to the quality work the creative team, led by Matt and Frank, and the cast are delivering.”
