The Top Five Uses of Depeche Mode Songs in Movies or TV

Depeche Mode is a band that you really have to be into to get and to enjoy. Formed in Essex back in 1980 they’ve stuck together for this long and have had their share of ups and downs. Like I already said you kind of really have to be into their music to understand and enjoy it, but many people have found it to be a different type of sound that they tend to like a little better than the typical mainstream that seems to be churned out on a regular basis for those that like to go with the flow. Depeche Mode has been on the top favorites charts many a time and even better than any accolade they could earn is the fact that in 2018 they will be inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

If that’s not impressive then nothing would be.

5. Atomic Blonde-Behind the Wheel

From what I’ve heard about this film it’s become one of the newest sensations in spy movies and has elevated women to a role that’s more than a secretary and much better as well. The one thing that seems to confuse me about it is that while women are seeking to be empowered and not seen as sex objects films like this still seem to ramp up the sexuality and use women’s inherent attractiveness as a means of pushing the film. (Shrugs)

4. The Tonight Show w/Jimmy Fallon-Where’s the Revolution

One way to know that you’ve become famous is that celebrity talk show hosts start inviting you onto their shows. Or rather those in charge of booking the bands are in charge of sending out the invites. In any case a band that pops up on a late night show that millions of people tune into has made it far enough that they’ve been considered as one of the hottest things in show business. This isn’t Depeche Mode’s first time on this kind of stage, but that makes them even more impressive.

3. American Horror Story: Hotel-One Cares

Hands down this was one of the creepiest seasons of AHS since its inception. There’s something about staying in a hotel room that is inherently creepy no matter if it’s been cleaned, bleached, and then cleaned again. The idea that someone else was staying in the room before you, that someone else was using the sheets, the blankets, the towels, etc., is a little unnerving at times, especially in older hotels. Plus, it’s usually wise to not even think about anything else that’s gone on there.

2. Almost Human-Your Own Personal Jesus

Humans building robots that resemble humans seems like a lot of hubris as well as arrogance. It seems to be saying that humans need the help but they don’t trust anything that doesn’t look like them. So yeah, let’s go ahead and make these new humanoid machines in our image and then wonder why they malfunction now and again when they’re exposed to humanity. Smart.

1. Smallville-Precious

If there’s one failing of Smallville, and some would argue that there’s many, it’s that we got to see a lot of what Clark could do, but we didn’t really get the finale we wanted. We wanted to see him become Superman!

Depeche Mode is an integral part of pop culture as you can see, and hopefully will stay that way.
