Days of Our Lives fans know that many situations are disappointing. The thing with television — especially of the daytime variety — is that you simply do not always get what you want. You have to work very hard to make things happen for the people in your life, but these people don’t always care about anyone but themselves, and that’s what it all boils down to. There is a lot that happens in this situation, but we think that some story lines are a bit more disappointing than others. And, to be fair, they are not always disappointing just once. Some of them are disappointing more than once, and we are here to share our three least favorite, most disappointing, story lines from the show. Do you agree or disagree?
Gabi Interfering with Chad’s Relationships
Listen, we know that they were in love in high school and that they thought they were meant to be, but it’s clear to us that Chad doesn’t think so. At least, he doesn’t think so nearly as often as Gabi believes this is true. It seems to us that he is not as into her as she is into him, even though they both go into other relationships regularly. He has a child with his wife, Abigail, and another on the way (even if, as publication, he believes this second baby belongs to someone else). Gabi is never minding her own business when it comes to Chad and his relationships.
Remember when he was with Melanie, and she went right out of her way to make sure that things didn’t work out for them? She schemed and plotted, and even went so far as to see if she could break them up by kidnapping Melanie? And she’s schemed against Chad and Abby too many times to count, including in the days when Abby came back from the dead and was there to find her man. And what’s most disappointing about all of this is the fact that they don’t seem to realize that with her history of trying to destroy his relationships that she’s not behind what is happening right now? Or the fact that while Abby realizes this is true, Chad always seems to take longer to believe that Gabi would do that despite the fact she has a long history of doing just that?
Melaswen Island
All right. We don’t even know where to start with this one, honestly. This one is a situation that makes little to no sense to us, and we just don’t get it. We get nothing from it, we don’t understand any of it, and we aren’t sure entirely what is going on at all. But that is not all that we cannot figure out, either. There was that time when they had to figure out if there was something going on with the murders that were happening around here, and there were. There was a lot of death, and it was thought that a very important character was taking the lives of everyone, and then they all mysteriously showed up alive and well and living their lives as if nothing happened on an island that was New Salem spelled backwards. It was a story that’s too farfetched for even the most diehard soap opera fans. We didn’t like it.
Patch’s Arrest
It’s a new situation as of 2018, but we hate every second of it. Things were horrible for him and Kayla and the fact that their son killed Ava and then they found out they had another son, Tripp. Well, we found out that Ava and Steve had another son, but Kayla welcomed the young man into her life. He worked very hard to make sure that he could take down his father for he believed he was the reason his mother was dead, etc. But things just took a turn one day when he was gone, Kayla got a call that he was arrested and charged with espionage, and then everyone was done with that. He’s gone, this story is ridiculous, and fans have never been more disappointed in a story line before. It’s not our favorite, and we want more closure than this offered.
