Supernatural Spoilers – The Truth About Vampires

Ha! That title is terribly misleading. We’re not going to learn the truth about vampires (actually, maybe we will), but I have two sets of spoilers for you: one about vampires and the other about truths.
The episode synopsis for the October 22 new episode of Supernatural (episode 6.06) is very revealing:
DEAN IS TURNED INTO A VAMPIRE
After a group of young girls go missing, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) realize that a group of vampires have taken up residence in the small town. After a fight with two of the blood-suckers, Dean is bitten and turns into a vampire.
Samuel (guest star Mitch Pileggi) tells Dean he can change him back but he’d have to get the blood of the vampire who turned him. Dean infiltrates the nest and runs into the Alpha.
Wow, that sounds awesome. It’s going to have to be a one-off instance to turn Dean into a vampire. I mean, they can’t keep him as one for the remainder of the season. This isn’t Angel or The Vampire Diaries. I don’t see how that would work. The question is how they’ll successfully manage to change him back. It seems like killing the sire will take off the curse (much like with werewolves in season 2), but will Dean be successful? I also find it interesting that we’re seeing the Alpha (or first) of all the creatures this season. First the Alpha shapeshifter, now the Alpha vampire. How old do you think that guy would be?
Fancast also recently posted a spoiler that Serinda Swan (Smallville) will be making an appearance in an episode entitled “You Can’t Handle the Truth” (episode 6.06, airing on October 29).
Swan will guest-star as a news reporter chronicling an unsettling series of suicides. As Dean and Sam delve into the maudlin mystery, they determine that each victim had been exposed to a brutal truth that quite literally drove them crazy.
Swan’s character, I am told, may turn out to be in possession of information that could shed light on the brothers’ investigation, just as one of Winchesters is forced to comes to terms with a hard truth of his own – one that could send his sibling reeling!
The question was recently put to Ausiello as to which brother would face a truth and which brother would reel. According to him: “Sam is facing the truth; Dean is reeling.”
So, of course, I immediately think that Sam will have to face a truth about his time in Hell or what he is now (not exactly Sam?). Beyond that, I can’t think of what else it might be, so if you can, feel free to share!
Check back tomorrow night for our recap of 6.03 “The Third Man”. Watch a promo and sneak peek for tomorrow night’s episode.
