There are times when it’s necessary to look at a clip and ask ‘why?’. The answer to why someone would make an amalgam of Thanos and Vision and have them show some ‘amazing’ singing skills is pretty obvious though. It’s because they can. It’s not for anyone to say that something like this shouldn’t be attempted, but the ridiculous nature of it kind of leaves people a little confused when they finally see the clip. Also, leading in towards Avengers: Infinity War, it’s really confusing since you can already bet that Thanos and Vision aren’t going to be doing any singing when it comes to getting down and dirty. In fact it’s safer to say that the Vision might be hurting from what we’ve seen from the previews so far since he carries the Soul stone, one of the six gems that Thanos needs to power the Infinity Gauntlet.
It’s hard to know absolutely everything there is to know about Thanos since his story has changed just a bit as the comics have evolved and moved forward, but one thing that can be counted on is that he’s big, tough, and as bad as they come. He’s only ever teamed up with the heroes in the comics when it’s suited him, and that alliance has crumbled quickly when he had no more use for it. He’s not the most powerful villain or person in the MCU, but when armed with the Infinity Gauntlet he’s been able to take down pretty much anyone that comes up against him. In fact in the comic series Vision managed to get what seemed like a good hit on him, but then was caught the second time and had his innards ripped out as a result. Thanos is just that bad, and he’s that mean when it comes to dealing with his enemies. So far in the trailer it looks like he has only two Infinity stones, but that can change quickly since going after Vision means that he’ll have three if he gets it, which then leaves just three more to find and retrieve.
It’s not usually a matter of IF he’s going to find what he needs. With Thanos it’s usually a matter of WHEN. In the comics he’s not only tough, but he’s smart as well, incredibly smart and able out think some of the smartest individuals in the MCU. He’s also been responsible in the past for Gamorra and Nebula, so it will be interesting to see just how they stack up against him since he’s the one that trained them. It could be that the current MCU will be adjusted to make it so that both women hate Thanos and want to kill him, but we’ll see. The movie will be parsed into two parts, one of which is coming out within the next several months, and the other that is slated to come out next year. Given that the Infinity Gauntlet series ran for six issues all on its own, which is not to mention the numerous crossover issues, this will be an action-packed movie that will help redefine the MCU.
And no, Thanos will not be singing.
