Out in the shed, Cameron tells Riley it’s her fault the woman is there. Reminding Cameron that she’s John’s sister and can’t keep her out there, Riley watches as the Terminator advances, her newly-repaired arm twitching again. It’s not the arm that’s broken. ‘They don’t always like the way I do things.’Pretty sure Riley doesn’t either.
Inside, they’re talking about concealed weapons and permit transfers.
Outside, Cameron is wondering what she should do with Riley, and could Riley be the source for the complaint that brought the social worker out? Riley’s shaking as Cameron tells her how wrong she is for John, that Riley is a threat and can’t stay here anymore…but can’t be allowed to leave, either.
‘What am I going to do with you?’
‘Nothing.’Riley’s getting desperate, reminding Cameron over and over that she’s John’s sister, just his sister and she can’t do anything. Riley’s beginning to see the hole that Jesse’s dug, able to see it for what it really is, and she’s terrified.
Finally, John arrives and Riley clings to him — aware that he’s all she has left, he’s the only one who can save her now — before bolting out of the shed, leaving him to deal with Cameron. When asked, point-blank, if she was going to kill Riley, Cameron can’t answer. ‘I don’t know.’The machine with her thousands of processes per second can no longer make up her own mind and that is BAD, people. She knows what she should have done, but she didn’t, she couldn’t, she’s broken. John tries to tell her that it’s not her decision to make, but he doesn’t understand that it’s not supposed to be a decision at all.
‘What’s happening with you?’
‘I don’t know.’So many questions, so few answers.
Inside, Sarah has the gun in her hand, her own internal battle in full force. Has she learned to do what the machine should? Kyle told her she wasn’t one of the machines, was he wrong? No, he’s not, so Sarah unloads and waits to see what her broken family does.
Outside, Riley swears she didn’t tell anyone, her truths sounding more and more like lies. John says he believes her, he can save her, but if there’s anything he should know – anything she wants to tell him – ‘Today is the day.’Sarah appears over johns shoulder and Riley says no. She turns the question on him, and John sees Cameron over Riley’s shoulder. ‘No.’They’re surrounded by the only people who can save them, but they can’t bring themselves to ask for their lives.
Speaking of relationships destined to end badly, Derek’s over at Jesse’s with the surveillance intel. It’s not very promising, there’s lots of security, lots of cameras at the home and office that makes grabbing him there impossible. Their one chance is to grab him on the way to the airport as he’s leaving the country. Narrow road, sparsely populated. One final chance. Jesse tries to back out, but Derek won’t have it. This is it. One final chance.

Heh – so am I as I have yet to watch the episode. If you hear screams of glee, angst, and/or rage coming from the general direction of Texas tomorrow? That will be me.
(Later on, form an apartment in North Austin) Oh, holy CRAP!

Awesome recap! I have started watching this show, and I had never seen an episode until I read your first recap, but it sucked me in just from the description. I have to say, I'm a little confused about a few things, but I already like it. I can't believe I wasn't watching from the beginning for Brian Austin Green…
One of us! One of us! Welcome to the fold, Kripke. We have angst, creepy robots, explosions and cookies. OK, I'm lying about the cookies, but we do have Brian Austin Green and Summer Glau and that is teh awesome, no?
KOM you really need to take a boo at the amazing Terminator FAQ Raven has put together…I watch the show every week and still have to refer to it, as well as posting dozens of questions ;)

Enjoyed this detailed recap, but note the dead bird at the end was an English sparrow, and the bird Cameron crushed at the beginning was a pigeon. This suggests that Cameron's glitch is still present and not worked out, that she crushed yet another bird. The glitch probably plays a role in the season's resolution.
