So obviously you’re not going to be racing around the store and smashing into other karts. It would be nice if you could ram other karts in the store right smack into the bed and bath section but sadly reality isn’t that awesome. However, Target stores is partnering with Nintendo to in fact turn a number of stores into Mario Kart themed stores. According to Bleeding Cool:
The move is being onto to promote the release of Mario Kart 8 Deluxe for the Nintendo Switch this week, and GameXplain were the first to show off all the cool details of what you can check out, which includes being greeted at the door by Mario and walking around the store in specially designed shopping carts. Regardless of how you feel about the game, that’s pretty cool.
The nice thing about all of this is that there’s a video to explain all of the details and give us a better idea of what to expect. No matter how close or how far away this is from the real Mario Kart, it’s interesting that they’re even trying this:
