In what is the latest political controversy, former FBI director James Comey was abruptly fired by President Donald Trump earlier this week. While I think all of you already know exactly what’s going on here’s a brief rehashing. The claim from the White House is that Comey was fired for how poorly he handled the Hillary Clinton email scandal. What’s troubling is the fact that while as a candidate Donald Trump praised Comey for re-opening the email investigation which many believe won him the election.
But here we are, 6 months later and Comey was trying to get more resources to fund the investigation into Russia’s ties to Donald Trump during the election. Literally two days after Comey’s request for funds, he was fired. We know it. Trump knows it. Everyone knows it. The timing of Comey’s dismissal is murky at best and reeks of scandal. Not to mention Trump met with the Russian ambassador literally a day after Comey’s firing.
