The Social Network Gets the Honest Trailer Treatment

When you look back on the movie The Social Network it’s hard to think that Mark Zuckerberg was much like the character that Jesse Eisenberg played.  There was an arrogance as well as elitist tone he used throughout the movie.  Don’t get me wrong, it made for an excellent piece of cinema and to this day remains one of my favorite “biopic” type films.  It’s just that seeing Zuckerberg now and the way he runs his company it’s hard for me to believe he was that much of a vindictive type of guy back then.

Plus the entire movie is based around the fact that Zuckerberg wanted to get girls and that’s effectively why Facebook was born.  While there may be some truth to that in its initial inception, come on.  Even the end of the movie sees  Zuckerberg waiting on his ex-girlfriend to befriend him on his own massive creation.    You also have to remember the movie was made in 2010 so Zuckerberg was much younger and less mature then.

In any event, seven years after the film was made we finally hear from the team at Screenjunkies who decided to give the film the Honest Trailer treatment.  And they didn’t disappoint.  Check out the video below:
