Seth Meyers Analyzes Trump’s First Joint Session Congress Speech

The overall consensus on Trump’s first joint session Congress speech was that he did a “better” job than what he usually does.  He sounded more “Presidential” this time and rather than being the crazy off the cuff President he usually is and making outlandish statements, Trump actually stuck to his speech and seemed to adhere to the teleprompters.  However, many are skeptical of the things that he said.  Like in the past, there were a fair amount of promises Trump made, but little detail on how he will execute those promises.

It was also evident that the majority of Democrats in the audience were either not buying what he said or they were flat out annoyed.  Memes and GIFs have been going around the internet of heads shaking in disapproval and perhaps the biggest criticism of Trump’s speech came from Bernie Sanders on Facebook.

Late Night also took to analyzing the speech and I personally felt that Meyers tackled it best.   He began his monologue by telling his audience that Donald Trump is “normal” now and that if we tuned in to watch Late Night tomorrow we’d be treated to a cooking show.

That was just the beginning.  Check out the full monologue below:
