Spring Break was a fantastic time in college. There’s no doubt about that and each year I’m further removed from college, the more I miss it. But with each passing year I’m also noticing just how crazy and dangerous it’s become. That’s why the producers at Fox News and Sean Hannity decided that in 2014 they would start sending a reporter out on Spring Break to record all the debauchery and interview the students who were only there for only one reason: to party.
Why did Fox News even start the segment? Obviously it was for ratings but I personally think it’s nostalgia and the hope that someday Spring Break will return to their lives. This year’s 2017 Spring Break coverage was more of the same. A bunch of crazy kids on South Padre Island living it up on mommy and daddy’s dime.
I’m not exactly sure what Fox News is trying to accomplish here but yeah, we get it. Binge drinking is a bad thing and every college kid not only knows this but makes it their mission to put their previous Spring Break drinking binge record to shame. No matter what, Hannity’s segment certainly got a kick out of the coverage.
