Recap – True Blood 3.02 “Beautifully Broken”

Recap – True Blood 3.02 “Beautifully Broken”In case you’ve missed last week’s season premiere, here is what you need to know:

1- Bill was kidnapped;

2- Sookie asked Eric — who is still very, very yummy — for help, but he wouldn’t help her;

3- Jessica was feeding off this guy and accidentally killed him and now doesn’t know what to do with his body;

4- Sam is looking for his birth family and found them somewhere in Arkansas.

5- Tara tried to kill herself.

Alright, so this week we picked up right where they left us with Bill fighting werewolves and killing almost the whole pack. Before he could finish the job, the vampire king of the district he is in now — Mississippi — stops him and tells him those fools were the ones who kidnapped him and were only supposed to escort him to the district. Then he kindly orders Bill to go with him to his mansion.

Meanwhile, Sookie and Jessica go find Eric to tell him that they found Bill’s car and some weird werewolf symbol. Eric doesn’t give a damn and tells Sookie to stay out of it in order to NOT attract any attention to herself because her life is too valuable. He also shows her a memory of himself and Godric fighting Nazi werewolves back in the World War 2, just to show her how vicious they are.

Lafayette saves Tara and makes her throw up all those pills we had last seen her swallowing last week. Then he tries to take her to the hospital and when she refuses to go, he takes her to the loony bin where his momma is living in now, to show Tara that she might end up like that too if she doesn’t fight the darkness that grows within their family.

Sookie goes to work and sees a guy stalking her. Terry shows up and tries to help her, but the guy ends up running away. When they chase after him, Sookie finds only his clothes and paw prints in the woods. Terry is all over protective and scared for her and gives her a gun to protect herself with when she refuses to let him call Andy. Arlene comes in and yells at him. That leads to a conversation in which Sookie tells him he should tell Arlene about his feelings and that he’s worth it. Because of that, we get to see the cutest scene in which Terry lists ten reasons why Arlene should trust him with her kids. While she’s throwing up in the bathroom, ya know, because she’s pregnant with his child. Which he still doesn’t know.

Anyway, Sam finds his family and they’re shifters and losers and his little brother hates them all. They argue about who has suffered more, then decide to go for a run. Sam’s brother Tommy, if I remember correctly, almost gets hit by a car, but shifts into a bird at the last minute. Sam looks impressed.

Jessica decides that, since she doesn’t know what to do with the dude she killed, she might as well chop him to pieces so she rents a chainsaw. When she gets home, ready to do the deed, the body is gone and we’re all confused. Looks like we’re going to have another newborn vamp in our hands.

Bill goes to the King’s house, where he is kindly kept in captivity. They offer him a comfy room with a comfy bed and a silver door. Then they feed him all kinds of weird blood meals, just so the King can make him an offer: he wants Bill to be sheriff of the district of Mississippi, in exchange for convincing the Queen Sophie Anne to marry the King, so they can have one huge kingdom. Bill says he doesn’t give a damn about being a sheriff and tries to leave, but then the King uses his last resort: threatening Sookie. And then Lorena shows up and Bills throws a lamp at her and sets her on fire! Does fire kill vampires? I don’t really think so, but I could be wrong.

Meanwhile, Sookie is waiting for the werewolf stalker to come back to get some answers out of him, but only gets a visit from Eric, who is totally going soft on us. They talk and Eric tells her to ask him in so he can protect her and also have hot, wild sex with her in the process. I really don’t know what possessed her to say no, but she refuses his offer and they talk some more in the porch and he tells her that the werewolves are very, very dangerous creatures who live off of vampire blood. Then Eric hears something and demands that she let him in, which she obviously does, and they find the werewolf stalker in the house ready to attack.

Fade to black.

Damn, just when it was getting good!
