It’s amusing that the guy that said he has no time for TV, Donald Trump, reportedly watches about four to eight hours every day in order to keep feeding the dumpster fire that is his Twitter war with the media. It seems a little contradictory, okay a LOT contradictory, for Trump to state that he has no time for TV when it’s obvious that in order to fuel his Twitter war he needs the kind of material he’s only going to find on the tube. In fact it’s been reported that he actually sits in front of the TV with the sound off and his fingers just itching to get on social media.
There are so many things that can be said about Trump at this point and so many that would incite a truly nasty argument, but I’ll refrain for now. Instead I’ll talk about how he seems to make one mistake after another and his supporters continue to back him as though he’s the risen messiah meant to make America a great nation again. No offense to anyone but in a land where you’re free to think, do, and say what you want, Trump tends to take things to their limits and well over, opening his mouth without thinking far too many times. I wonder at this point if he’s a chess player because it seems like he’s never been a step ahead of anyone since he became the POTUS.
His supporters at this point would probably claim that he only watches newscasts and “fake news” so that he can respond and put them back in their place as is needed. Yeah, the only problem with that is the fact that as POTUS, Trump has people on staff that are meant to do that. The president isn’t meant to be quiet, but he’s also not meant to go after each and every newscast that he deems to be unfair or fake. That’s not his job, and it’s not his responsibility to determine who is spouting fake news and who is for real. The press is able to devise their own stories and run their own news without Trump being the spokesperson for one station and the bane of another.
The amount of time he watches TV a day shouldn’t matter unless it’s impeding his job, which watching for eight hours at a time might very well do just that. The POTUS is supposedly one of the busiest men in the world, what with having to run a country and continually make certain that our nation is in line with others when it comes to various matters. What in the world is he doing when he watches that much TV? I can understand getting updates, seeing what’s out there, and then even having some leisure time every so often. But spending that much time a day in front of the TV sounds absolutely ridiculous.
