Well, it’s happened, one of the earliest videos to go viral has finally gotten a sequel. I do wish I could say that it was a happy, much better situation throughout the world that the video could picture, but it’s not. I almost get the feeling that Billy Joel needs to write a sequel to We Didn’t Start The Fire just to encompass the burning dumpster fire that our world seems to be heading towards these days. Matters don’t seem to have gotten much better from when End of Ze World was released on the internet, but at the very least we haven’t blown ourselves up, though it might be that we’re on the verge since there’s a guy in office that would rather make threats about what would happen if someone were to bomb the US rather than use a little thing called diplomacy and, oh yeah, tact.
The first viral video was sure that the world would be ended by now in a fiery inferno that had consumed the planet. Thankfully that didn’t happen but things still aren’t going in an upward swing it would seem since the country is about as split as it could be thanks to a lot of different things going on in the country at the moment. It’s very easy to blame those in office since they tend to set the trends that we don’t like and are seemingly out to ruin the country. Without slinging too much blame at them, but a healthy amount since it’s that easy and that justified from many points of view, the world is in far more dire straits now than it has been in many years.
Some folks tend to think there’s another Civil War looming on the horizon and they might not be too far off the mark. The only problem with that is that both sides would be far more heavily armed and likely to do much more damage. A war like that on American soil would not only tear the country apart, again, but it would open the door for yet another attempt made by other countries to take over, which some people feel is going on anyway. The whole thing is kind of one giant mess right now with opinions and poor decisions running rampant while Trump gets blamed for the majority of it, sometimes rightfully so, and the rest of the world is holding their breath trying to figure out just when one little spark is going to ignite the whole tinderbox and send us all straight to the depths of whatever hellish landscape that’s been left for us.
We can only hope it doesn’t come to that but at the moment there’s not not a lot of hope it would seem in the minds of many people. The ensuing nonsense that continues to build each and every day seems to be spiraling out of control in a way that’s in almost no way predictable save by those that want to imagine the worst case scenario.
