NBC: Which Series will be Cancelled this Season? Hint: A Lot

We are getting close to the end of the 2017-2018 TV season. This means that the networks are starting to make announcements on which of their shows will be returning to our screens in the fall. NBC has had some luck with series like This Is Us, Superstore, The Good Place, and Will & Grace. All four series have already been renewed by the peacock network. Here is our list of the series that we expect to be cancelled within the next month.

Great News

It was great news when NBC decided to renew this Tina Fey comedy last season as it did not deliver stellar ratings. When it premiered season two, the ratings were going pretty well. However, as the season progressed, they would dwindle. Then NBC started burning off episodes in December, when most networks are airing holiday specials. Maybe it will find a home on Netflix.

Taken

I was shocked that NBC renewed this series for a season two last year. Even though it does air on Friday nights, I do not think it is delivering the ratings numbers the network would like on the night barely anyone watchestelevision. Expect to see this one gone from the airwaves soon. At least you can re-watch the movies the series is based on whenever you like!

Timeless

I loved, loved, loved the first season of this NBC drama. And I am still loving season two. I think the fans that were rooting to bring this show back after its cancellation forgot to tune in when it came back in March. It didn’t help matters that fans had to wait almost 10 months before seeing a new episode.

The Brave

CBS did better with SEAL Team. If only NBC could have snagged David Boreanaz for this very similar drama.

Champions

Mindy Kaling is a comic genius. However, even with her named tied to this NBC sitcom, I don’t see this one making it past season one. As someone who knows a lot about TV (hey, I do write about it!), I didn’t know this series even existed until I happened to catch a commercial about it. However, by that time I was already too invested with other shows to give it a shot.
