For the record I need to start off by saying I’m still trying to get used to John Boyega’s English accent. It’s not quite as strong a feeling I get when I hear Hugh Laurie speak but it’s still a very powerful “how the hell is this guy not American?” vibe. Speaking of Boyega, of all the Star Wars new blood I think he’s my favorite. The actor known for playing Finn is still just such an unassuming guy and I’m seeing absolutely zero signs of star status going to his head yet. You gotta love this guy.
Recently, Boyega pranked fans of the series in a big way, but it was all for a good cause. He snuck into the background as fans posed during a photo opportunity with the droid BB-8 at the Star Wars Celebration in Orlando this month. He was promoting the Omaze campaign tied to the film series in which fans can win a chance to spend a night at the Skywalker Ranch in California, attend the premiere of “The Last Jedi” or have a role on the Han Solo film now in production.
