Jim Jeffries had a rather insane interview on Israeli TV. To start with he’s allowed to say pretty much anything since the censors either don’t care or aren’t up on when it’s time to push the button and bleep him out. It’s a different country and there’s no idea if the network is more flexible on language so it’s possible that they just don’t care. Jeffries apparently came to the show in a cab so it’s also easy to think that the show isn’t really that well-funded., He seems to have a lot of freedom on this show and that’s more than evident when he swings his legs up on the other seat and then pours some of the host’s beer into his own. I really think he’s either drunk or stoned while he’s doing this interview since he seems more out of it than usual. It wouldn’t be the first time that a guest kind of got out of control on a show however, but it’s certainly interesting to watch.
He has a few choice words on Trump too, as many people do these days. I would have to agree with the words that having a Reality TV star for president doesn’t seem to have been as widely embraced by the country as some might thought it would be. But having Oprah wouldn’t be much better than having Trump right now, that much I do agree with even though she would be better than Trump in many ways and more accepted. The only condition is that she would have to toughen up her image just a bit in order to really present herself as a firm and resolute leader. Thankfully she has already indicated that she will not be running in 2020, which is fortunate and unfortunate since that leaves the question of who will be running against Trump that might have a chance. A lot of people believed that Hillary had more than a fighting chance, but we all saw how that went.
Getting back to the interview, Jeffries is just the kind of guest that you might not want to invite back after this kind of performance. He not only kind of insults the cast, the host, and even the band in his own comedic way, but definitely acts weird enough that one would think that he’s kind of a jerk. He’s just all over the place and there’s no telling just where he’s going to be next, what he’s going to do, or what he’s going to say. The move with the beer is something that would get him a swift jab to the temple or at least pushed off his bar stool anywhere else, but on live TV it gets him a good healthy laugh. And then interacting with the audience is kind of a back and forth thing that can go one way or the other. He’s not being rude to the woman he speaks to but he quickly lapses back into the guise of a rather boorish guest.
Yeah, it gets a little crazy.
