Jennifer Lawrence, 36, was once one of those Hollywood actresses who vehemently denied having gone under the knife, but not anymore.
In October 2026, the Hunger Games actress admitted she had plastic surgery after giving birth to her second child last year and explained why she is open to more.
Many netizens disliked Lawrence’s decision, and even fewer approved of her reason.
“She did not need one. Some people look worse with certain work,” one user said.
Jennifer Lawrence underwent breast surgery and wants a facelift next

In October 2025, Lawrence told The New Yorker that she wanted to get a breast augmentation after giving birth to her second child with husband Cooke Maroney, an art gallery director.
The two met in 2018 after actress Laura Simpson reportedly introduced them, married in 2019, and had their first child, Cy, in 2022.

She told the outlet that “everything bounced back, pretty much,” after her first childbirth, but with the second pregnancy, “nothing bounced back.”
Now, in an October 27 interview with The Cut, Lawrence confirmed she got the surgery. Next, she plans to get a facelift.
“I want to be a s*xy mom,” the Silver Linings Playbook star said. “At drop-off, I want to look like a woman who has her sh*t together even when I’ve just woken up and don’t have my sh*t together.”

The revelation came weeks after she created an Instagram account in September and subsequently announced her foray into the beauty business with Mes, a three-product haircare line launched on October 27, 2026.
She also talked about being self-conscious about her hair earlier in her career after dyeing, straightening, and aggressive heat treatments for different films left it damaged—a sentiment that fueled her new haircare products.
Netizens were not happy with Lawrence’s decision to “destroy her natural beauty”

Many fans were frustrated that Lawrence chose cosmetic procedures, while others blasted her justification.
“If there was any lady who did NOT need any work done, that lady would’ve been J-Law… A d*mn shame, really,” one said. Another wrote, “Going for the gaunt ghost look like all the rest.”

A third criticized, “All that matters to these self-absorbed a**holes is their image. How about wanting to be a good mother for your freaking child?”
“Because “s*xy” is the quality most useful in raising your children?” a fourth chimed in. A fifth suggested, “Then exercise, eat sensibly, and get a full night’s sleep. Stay away from the knife!”
“How sad, she had a completely unique and lovely face. Now she looks like a Mar-a-Lago reject,” another angry user commented.
In 2023, Lawrence shut down plastic surgery rumors, saying it was all makeup and “baby weight” she was shedding from her face.
Lawrence previously said she wants to get buccal fat removal, but is hesitant for one reason

Lawrence clearly changed her mind sometime between then and now, as she admitted in a September 2026 Vogue interview that she got “baby Botox,” the industry term for small doses of Botox.
She pointed out that she couldn’t “get very much done” because she needed “movement” in her face for her job.

She also said she would love buccal fat removal, which would reduce the fuller appearance of her “massive cheeks” and highlight her jawline, but hesitated because she wasn’t sure it would be well received.
As for her post-pregnancy breast augmentation, plastic surgeon Dr. Emily Kirby said in April 2026 that childbirth was one of the most common reasons women seek the surgery.

“After you are no longer pregnant or breastfeeding, the glandular tissue shrinks, but the stretched ligaments, skin, and other tissues may not return to their previous state,” she explained on her blog site.
“For some women, no amount of diet or exercise can ‘bounce back’ the tissues to their former shape. This is not a failure. It is simply biology.”

According to plastic surgeon Lauren Greenberg’s research, about 49% of primary augmentation patients are women dissatisfied with their breast appearance after giving birth, earning the procedure the label of “mommy makeover” online.
“Maybe fix your mind instead,” one user said
