James Cameron Growing Tired of Titanic Ending Wooden Door Theories

James Cameron has been in the news plenty as of late.  Don’t expect it to die down either.  The Avatar director has been busy at work writing not one but all of the Avatar sequels and rumor has it he’ll be connected to a potential resurrection of The Terminator franchise.  But the news today about James Cameron is somewhat humorous.  As all of you may recall, he directed the blockbuster film Titanic.  One of the biggest points of contention in the movie is towards the end when Jack and Rose are stranded in the ocean and Rose is floating on a wooden door.

Fans and critics to this day complain about the fact that Jack could have gotten on that door and survived with Rose.   In an interview with the Daily Beast, Cameron responded to an episode of Mythbusters, which aired in 2012, that tried to settle the whole debate — by doing the most logical thing and trying to get two grown men on a plank of wood to see if it would float.  It actually worked and here’s the video:

However Cameron was not happy with their results. In fact he said that anyone who thinks Jack could have floated away is completely full of it.

“We’re gonna go there? Look, it’s very, very simple: you read page 147 of the script and it says, “Jack gets off the board and gives his place to her so that she can survive.” It’s that simple. You can do all the post-analysis you want,” he said.

Looks like Cameron is tired of this debate but it sure seems like it’s continuing to rage on.  Do you think Jack could have survived?
