While the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship and the Westminster Dog shows get all the attention here in the U.S., the big one in Great Britain is the Crufts Dog Show which attracts an entry of over 20,000 dogs each March. If you were watching the show on television abroad you probably caught this. If not and you were here in the U.S. you might have gotten around to seeing a video that’s now viral. Don’t worry, we have it below.
Meet Olly the Jack Russell terrier who just had one of the most epic dog show obstacle courses ever. Technically it was a humongous fail but it’s turned out to be the best moment of the show. On Sunday Olly absolutely lost it at the agility round at Crusts. The rescue doggie who has now been re-homed ignored the instructions given by his handler Karen, a woman from the Blue Cross in Hertfordshire, England, who did everything she could to help the dog stay on the course. Those efforts did not even come close to panning out.
At Crufts, dogs go through a set of obstacles and score points for accuracy of the tricks. However, Olly was falling off obstacles, making mistakes and even skipping parts of the course all together.
As one commentator put it: “He is an absolute handful. [Olly is] totally crazy and as you can see he’s having a ball. He loves life and exercise.”
