Paul Abdul is going to star as herself in a new NBC comedy pilot. Currently there’s no title for the show but it’s based on Kourtney Kang’s life. The show is going to explore what it’s like to grow up as the only girl in the only mixed race family in the suburbs of Philadelphia, dealing with real-world issues like race and gender while never losing focus of her life goal which is to become a Laker Girl like her idol, Paula Abdul.
Actress Isabella Russo is set to play the lead. The news comes shortly after Abdul announced that she would not be returning to FOX’s “So you think you can Dance.” Who knows if she’ll be back on American Idol which is actually in talks to be resurrected on NBC.
I have to say something before continue. I’ve always had a crush on Paula Abdul. I doubt I’m the only person who has. I just do. She’s 54 years old and still looks fantastic. I was always a fan of her voice and she just has that cute look to her. I mean what do I know? I’m sure in real life it’s plenty different as things usually are but still, it’ll be nice to see her test out her acting chops in a comedy.
I’m guessing her character will definitely poke fun at herself given she’s playing “herself.” There’s just something about that smile.
