“Hard Knocks” with the Buccaneers Premiere: How Did It Go?

The premiere of “Hard Knocks” aired on August 8, 2017 and there were lessons learned and a lot of laughs in the process. The episode of “Hard Knocks with the Buccaneers” was highly anticipated by fans and they were satisfied with the results. The HBO series will feature different teams with each new episode. Here are the highlights of the successful season opener.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers training camp

It’s always amazing to get the real story about what goes on at training camp. We were privileged to hear from Nate Kaczor, Special Teams Coach. He let the players know that their roster spots would have to be earned by those who could prove that they were the most valuable for the team. He brought likened their task to the work that is currently underway to improve their indoor practice facility. The construction crew was busily working and it gave him the fodder for driving his point home. Any team is a work in progress. Mistakes are made and lessons are learned in the process of growing together as a team that evolves into a group that an anticipate one another’s plays and respond in kind. It takes hard work, a great effort and a lot of practice to become such a precision working machine. As for the players, they have great expectations for the 2017 season of NFL Football.

Season Prep

The behind the scenes look at the Buccaneers was truly remarkable. We saw some impressive film shots of slo-mo action that included some intense weather, rookies clowning around or singing, rookies who were having a rough go of it, the families and their dynamics and a cameo appearance by Snoop Dogg. There was a great narration that helped to move the episode forward, as he described the hard work of some of the bet players. Quarterback Jameis Winston was highlighted as the most important player of the team. This was an emotional scene and really, Football is. If you think that fans take the game seriously, multiply the intensity for the team and coaches.

Expectations were laid out to the players very clearly by the head coach. He left little to the imagination because it’s his job to cover all of the basis and he did it expertly. The show gave us an idea of who is considered to be the most important and valuable assets for the team by simply panning from one player to the other. It began with Winston, tehn McCoy, Evans, then Kwon Alexander.
New players were also observed including Riley Bullough, DeSean Jackson and Jeremy McNichols. Clips from the personal lives of the players were shared and it gave viewers a better idea of who these men are, where they came from, and perhaps where they got their inspiration to pursue the NFL.

How close are they coming?

The whittling down is an ongoing process. It’s necessary to ensure that the best of the best are retained for the team because the stakes are high, as always. The roster still stands at 90 players and in time it will be pared down. Every week that passes brings them closer to the goal.

The show itself is an incredible eye opener for fans who really don’t know what is involved at training camp. It’s great to learn more about the personal lives of players as well as their philosophies on the game. The first episode was successful and we’re expecting the series to be a big drawing card for the network in terms of viewership.
