What sorcery is this? Cersei Lannister agree with Olenna Tyrell? That is entirely unbelievable. But such is the case with the new Game of Thrones episode. Last we saw in King’s Landing, Olenna, just walked out of the Councilroom just leaving Cersei and Jaime to rot. But of course, when it comes to Margaery, Olenna will do anything. But I wonder if Cersei’s figured out that she’s Joffrey’s killer. Probably not, since she would kill Olenna if she knew. I’m more interested in what Tommen thinks though. Last I saw, the High Sparrow and them were getting pretty cozy. In the Season 6 trailer, if you’ll recall, we see Gold Cloaks lowering their spears to charge into the Great Sept of Baelor. We’re probably gonna see that soon enough.
What they don’t show us is Bran or Jon. We got a real shocker in the last episode with Jon deciding to screw the Night’s Watch. Kinda badass of him. Of course, he learnt from his mistakes. He did break his oath. The Night’s Watch takes no part in the wars of the realm. And he did kinda lead the wildlings into Castle Black. But at the same time, he does owe it to Robb and his mother to avenge them. Not to mention save Rickon in the process. In theory, the north should rally around him as he’s Ned’s son. We’re gonna have to wait and see.
The preview has one of those oh crap! moments where there’s a gate opening for Sansa, Brienne and Pod. What a coincidence that they arrive at the wall the instant Jon leaves. And Littlefinger and Ramsay are both after them of course. I’m betting on Littlefinger to find her. We’re far from a Jon and Sansa reunion I think.
On to Pyke then. Asha’s yelling at Theon about his betrayal. If you remember, Theon refused to go with Asha when she came to rescue him. And how did he get back to Pyke so fast? What about the damn kingsmoot? In the books, Theon’s not supposed to be there when it happens. The writers appear to be abandoning the source material here.
And this is the part that I’m starting to hate. The two lovesick Warriors on a bloody quest to save their queen. On the way, they probably disagree about something and decide to kill each other. I mean, what the hell? This is Game of Thrones, not a soap. And I’m tired of these two. More Tyrion and can we please get on with actually saving Daenerys. She’s not looking to be too good these days.
Game of Thrones airs Sundays at 9:00 P.M.
