Now we don’t want to spoil anything for any people out there who have yet to either see or read about the most recent episode of “Family Guy,” but there was a major plot twist that caught everyone off-guard. Rather than completely ruin the surprise for you, just know that a certain main character is sadly no longer with the Griffin’s in Quahog any longer. Spoilers follow in the actual article. That got us thinking about some other TV characters who suffered the same fate, experiencing a death in the show, leaving everyone a little shocked and wondering what would come next.
4. Lori Grimes – The Walking Dead – Although Lori Grimes wasn’t the most likable character on “The Walking Dead,” it’s hard not to feel bad for a lady who is put to rest by her own son putting an end to her before she can rise as a zombie again. It was so shocking because Grimes was the main character’s wife, birthing their baby together while trying to raise their teenage son–never an easy task. The fact that the plot went in this way proved anything could–and probably will–happen without a fair warning.
3. Angel – Buffy the Vampire Slayer We weren’t huge fans of this show, but we do know one thing–this is called sweet revenge for any girlfriend. Why? Well Buffy and Angel were dating on the show, and after getting a curse placed on Angel and he begins giving into sin with Buffy, she stabs him in the chest to condemn him to hell. Ah yes, just as every ex-girlfriend probably would want things to go down.
2. Dr. Mark Greene – ER – Anyone who grew up in the ’90s knows just how mega-popular the TV show “ER” really was, helping actors like George Clooney, Noah Wiley and Anthony Edwards the big break they needed to jump to the silver screen. It was Edwards’ character, Dr. Mark Greene, diagnosed with brain cancer that ultimately ended his role on the TV show. Viewers knew Edwards was going to be written out of the series as he had announced he was leaving the show, but it was still a breathy traumatic ending to such a vital character.
1. Brian – Family Guy – Maybe we’re just caught-up in the here and now, but the news that broke with whom the writers disposed of on one of the best comedies on TV was something no one could ever predict. Knowing the role Brian played in helping develop the series, it was a shocker that could either play-out the way writers and producers hope, or back-fire and completely see the replacement as a poor man’s stand-in.
