Margarita Levieva is a Russian-American actress who was born in Leningrad, Russian SFSR, Soviet Union, on February 9, 1980. She moved with her mother and twin brother to Sheepshead Bay in Brooklyn, New York City, at the age of 11. She began her acting career in her teens with some small roles in movies. In 2006, she was cast in one of the leading roles in the Fox television series, ‘Vanished’. She is best-known for her role in ‘Revenge’ in which she plays the real Emily Thorne and the faux Amanda Clarke. She is also well-known for playing Gina Zanetakos in ‘The Blacklist’. Her movie credits include ‘Spread’, ‘Adventureland’, and ‘The Invisible’.

1. She Came to the United States Illegally
When Margarita and her family moved to the United States, they did so illegally. It was the decision of her mother to enter the country with her two children without the correct documentation. While at high school, Levieva did not have U.S. citizenship. However, this is a situation that has since been resolved and she is now legally a citizen of the United States.
2. The Second Series of ‘Luck’ Was Canceled
Levieva landed a role in a television series called ‘Luck which was the second series of the show. Both Levieva and her fans were lucking to the launch of this second series and the actress had filmed most of her scenes. Unfortunately, HBO was forced to cancel the series before it was even aired. It became known that there were animal safety violations which took place during filming and this was something that the network could not ignore. Levieva was left disappointed when the show never made it to the screen.
3. She is a Talented Gymnast
Prior to becoming an actress, Margarita Levieva was a talented gymnast. She began her training in rhythmic gymnastics at the age of three while still living in Russia and she competed in many competitions in her native country. She continued her training when she moved to the United States and took part in many regional tournaments. However, as she was an illegal immigrant, she could not compete nationally as a gymnast.
4. She Is Well Educated
Levieva attended a high school in Secaucus, New Jersey before gaining a place to study at NYU where she obtained a bachelor’s degree in economics. She then worked as a fashion buyer before beginning her formal acting training when she was lucky enough to earn a place to study acting and drama on the Meisner Training Program at the William Esper Studio.
5. She is Considered One of the Most Beautiful Women in the World
Levieva’s looks have certainly done her acting career no harm and she is often considered to be one of the most beautiful women in the world. In fact, New York Magazine listed her amongst the 50 Most Beautiful People in York in a 2005 edition of their publication. However, her talent and good work ethos are just as important to her gaining leading roles as her beauty.
