Gotham is expected to make its return to the TV screen on the first of March. As a result, it should come as no surprise to learn that the marketing for the rest of the season has started up, with the best example being the release of a trailer called “See Your Own Darkness.” Said trailer provided a fair amount of information about the upcoming episodes of Gotham, which should come as welcome news to interested individuals.
For example, the trailer made it clear that Jerome Valeska will be making his return to the series in a significant manner. After all, it has been revealed that he will be teaming up with other villains to pull off something big, which has some rather interesting implications for his impact on the Penguin, who has been locked in Arkham Asylum with him. However, the trailer provided no information about when the real Joker will be making his appearance in Gotham, which is interesting because in spite of long-running fan speculation, Jerome won’t be the real Joker but rather the one who inspires the real Joker in the same manner that he has been inspiring other villains.
Moving on, Poison Ivy will be seeing a transformation of sorts. Combined with the fact that she has possession of a mysterious liquid with a rather sinister green look to it, it seems probable that some plant-based havoc can be expected for the near future of Gotham. Lucius Fox was featured in one of the shots at around the same time, so it will be interesting to see whether the character has anything to do with Poison Ivy or not. Something that is particularly true because it has been revealed elsewhere that Gotham will be taking more time to explore Lucius’s character through the use of the narrative tool that is romance, though it has been said as well that the romance will be no more than a short-lived one.
Finally, it is interesting to note that it seems that Batman is starting to come into being in Gotham. There is a shot of Bruce Wayne in a cave, listening to a figure in shadow with a rather gravely voice that proceeds to turn into a swarm of bats. The imagery is unmistakable. For that matter, this seems like the right time for this particular part of the overall narrative to take place, seeing as how Bruce is still in a not so great state of mind after the killing of Ra’s al Ghul.
With that said, there are other bits and pieces of information that might interest those who follow Gotham. As a result, they might want to consider seeing the trailer for themselves, which should help make the wait for the rest of Season 4 that much easier. With that said, the wait isn’t that long anyways, seeing as how the first episode is coming up in no more than a few weeks’ time. As a result, Gotham fans have plenty of reasons to be excited.
